Bio:

Sue Fry-Wickard is a long-time member of Cantate Carlisle, having served on the board and offered her talents as a singer for many years. She earned her Music Ed. undergraduate and master’s degrees from Temple University and a Kodaly certificate from Hartt School of Music at University of Hartford.

Her professional credits include playing piano at Allenberry, The REV Theatre Co, and Opera Lancaster. She held church choir jobs for 27 years, here in Carlisle and in Marietta, PA.

As a teacher, she has worked at NYSSSA School of Choral Studies in New York, Big Spring, South Middleton, New Oxford, and Manheim Central School Districts. She began her public school teaching career here in Carlisle at Lamberton Middle School in 1988. In 2008, Sue returned to Carlisle. Since then, she has been the general music teacher at Wilson Middle School, conducts the choral concerts and directs the school’s musicals. She is passionate and enthusiastic about sharing her love of music with young people, leading her to offer her talents as the accompanist for Cantate Young Voices and provide vocal training in conjunction with the CYV director. Sue is an alumnus of Carlisle School District, and she and her husband Tim now live back in Carlisle.
