Bio:

Janine Shuey graduated from Messiah College in 2016 with a B.S. in Music Education – At Messiah, she studied both voice and cello.  She began her career in Chambersburg and currently serves Eagle View Middle School (Cumberland Valley School District) as the general music teacher, choir director for 6th-8th grades, and music director for musicals. Outside of school, Janine teachers private voice and cello lessons. 

When not teaching, Janine freelances as a cellist in south central and southeastern PA. Past groups she’s played for include the Valley Forge Chorale, Clearfield Choral Society, Mercersburg Community Chorus, Cumberland Valley School of Music, as well as pit orchestras for various high school theater productions.

In her free time, Janine enjoys ringing handbells and singing in her church choir at Carlisle UMC.   She is furthering her own music education by taking graduate courses in choral conducting and vocal pedagogy. She has been serving Cantate as the Young Voices director since 2023.
